St. Paul Inside the Walls, the Catholic Center for Evangelization at Bayley-Ellard, is the home for a unique outreach to those who are seeking truth, God, faith, a place to belong and a shared mission.
Operated by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Paterson and located at the campus of the former Bayley-Ellard High School in Madison, New Jersey, the Center is housed in a restored brick Colonial Revival style mansion and a 1960's era school building. It also operates multiple departments of the diocesan Office of Evangelization.
The buildings sit upon a beautifully landscaped property situated behind a wall of rare "pudding stone" from the original estate.
The Center is named for the great apostle and evangelist, St. Paul, and was first announced in the jubilee Pauline Year proclaimed by Pope Benedict XVI in 2008-2009. Its designation, "Inside the Walls," while acknowledging one of its singular and beautiful features, also alludes to the great basilica in Rome, St. Paul Outside the Walls, built over the Apostle's tomb.
