My therapeutic framework is client-centered, strengths-based and focuses on the individual as a whole. I ensure each client feels heard and validated. Unique needs are considered when developing a therapeutic plan by individualizing my counseling approach to meet the client where they currently are in their journey. My ability to develop a rapport quickly helps clients feel ready to share and begin working on issues that bring them into counseling. I utilize techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Existential Therapy, Mindfulness, Meditation, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Strengths-Based Psychology, Trauma-Focused Therapy and Christian Counseling.
I received my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Fairfield University and my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Delaware. I am a National Certified Counselor that has extensive clinical experience working with diverse populations in terms of age, gender, ethnicity, and socioeconomic backgrounds. I have worked closely with individuals, groups, couples and families in a variety of settings. These include in private practice, college campuses, a community mental health agency, the criminal justice system, and in the rural villages of Nicaragua.
I can provide Christian counseling for those that are looking to incorporate their spirituality as a way of coping. I also enjoy working with the Law Enforcement community and can bring a level of understanding that other counselors may not have after seeing my family members' careers in it.
In my spare time, I enjoy being active by golfing, walking my Standard Poodle, and exercising. I love trying new recipes to cook and bake, as well as reading and crafting. It brings me joy to spend quality time with my family, friends and in my faith community. I am pleased to serve both New Jersey and Connecticut areas because I currently reside in Morris County, NJ and grew up in Fairfield County, CT.
