Our most active campus ministry program, students here benefit from a vibrant Catholic community. FDU has a long history with St. Paul Inside the Walls. In the late 1800's the Twombly family lived at the St. Paul Inside the Walls mansion while they built their own mansion (shown above), now named "Hennessey Hall" at FDU.
Students at Drew have the advantage of programs both on campus and nearby at St. Paul Inside the Walls. The students administer an offically recognized club called "Catholic Campus Ministry." Mass and Bible studies are held on campus, and many students carpool to other events at St. Paul Inside the Walls.
Campus Ministry at WPU has earned official club status and enjoys the advantage of having its own building on campus. Mass and other events are held each week at the Prince of Peace Chapel.
A school with large enrollment and a high percentage of Catholic students, the staff of nearby St. Matthew the Apostle Parish supports the campus ministry program. The schedule of events caters to commuters and those with heavy work schedules.
The Catholic Campus Ministry Club at Sussex County Community College exists to provide a Catholic presence on campus in an environment that is respectful to the individuality and dignity of each person, and to sponsor activities of a service, social, cultural and/or prayerful nature. Mass is celebrated on campus for Holy Days and special days of remembrance for the students, faculty & employees of the college, as well as the surrounding community. Meetings are held frequently throughout the semester as well as dialogue and faith sharing sessions.
